| Plant care | Romaine lettuce is heat sensitive and grows best at 64 to 72 °F (18 to 22°C). Temperatures higher than 75°F (24°C) can inhibit germination, cause bolting and a more bitter flavor to develop. There is no limit to the number of romaine lettuce seedlings per pod. Just let them thrive! You can harvest the leaves gradually, starting at around 3 to 4 weeks after planting by picking off the larger outer leaves first. We recommend harvesting the whole plant in one go at the latest 5 to 6 weeks after it's planted. to ensure it retains its signature flavor. |
